The Old Carthouse
The Old Carthouse is near Ashurst in West Sussex. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so all on one level. Detached, so it's just you. The garden is yours, and there's a patio area with a BBQ.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both have ensuite bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's an open plan living area with a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and highchair in if you need them. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
You're out in the countryside here. The nearest shop is about a mile away. There are a couple of pubs and restaurants within two miles. They're decent.
You're about a 15 minute drive from the coast at Worthing. Brighton's a bit further, maybe half an hour. Inland, you're right on the edge of the South Downs. Good for walking.
Arundel is close, maybe 20 minutes. The castle is there, and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust centre. Chichester is about the same drive for the cathedral or Goodwood. There are several National Trust properties nearby if that's your thing.
