Old Upper Gwestydd is just outside Cefn Mawr, which is near Newtown in Powys. It's a detached house up on a hill.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and kept to a high standard. It's a large, straightforward house, not overly fancy. The entrance is step-free and there's a walk-in shower downstairs if accessibility is needed. The stairs inside are normal.
You're up in the fields here. The views are over farmland. There's an orchard next door you're welcome to walk around. The garden is yours, with a patio, a barbecue, and a hot tub.
Newtown is two miles away. It has supermarkets, a few shops, and places to eat. The town is handy for bits and pieces.
The house has a games room, which is useful if the weather turns. There's a woodburning stove for the evenings. All the usual things are included: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. Parking for several cars. You can bring up to two dogs.
For walking, you can start right from the door onto the local paths. The Glyndŵr's Way long-distance path runs nearby. For a day out, the coast at Aberystwyth or the beaches around Borth are about a 40-minute drive. The Elan Valley reservoirs are roughly half an hour away and are spectacular for a drive or a bike ride. For history, Powis Castle is just under 30 minutes by car.
