The Granary

The Granary. It's in Llandyssil, just outside the village. It's a converted barn, so it's got those old beams and thick walls. You're pretty much surrounded by fields.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and a bathroom are downstairs, the other two bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. There's underfloor heating downstairs, which is good in winter.

You've got a decent sized garden that's enclosed. There's a hot tub out there. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a wood burner in the living area, but we supply logs for that. Bedding and towels are included.

You can bring two dogs. The garden is secure, but it's always worth checking a terrier at the gate.

The village pub is a few minutes walk away. They do food. For a proper shop, you'd drive to Newtown or Welshpool. Both are about a fifteen minute drive.

Montgomery is close, maybe five minutes in the car. The castle ruins are up there and worth a look. The National Trust Wales site has good info for places like Powis Castle, which is near Welshpool.

You're right on the edge of the Shropshire Hills. Good walking from the door, really. Carding Mill Valley is about half an hour's drive if you want a classic hike. The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway is the same sort of distance, if that's your sort of thing.

There's parking for two cars on the gravel next to the barn.
