Oak View
Oak View is near Cefn Mawr in Powys. It's a modern barn we built, designed for two people. Everything's on one level, which is handy.
The main thing is the view. There are big glass doors at the front, so you're looking straight out over the fields. It's very quiet. The bedroom has a free-standing copper bath in it, right by the window. There are remote-controlled blinds for privacy.
Outside, there's a patio with a hot tub and the garden is enclosed. You can bring one dog.
Inside, it's open plan. The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher. There's a wet room shower as well as the bath. It's got a 5 Star rating, which in practice means the fittings are good quality and it's well insulated. We run it on biomass heating and renewable energy where we can.
Newtown is the closest place, about two miles. It's got shops, pubs, and a theatre. For a day out, Powis Castle is well worth a visit. The Elan Valley reservoirs are about half an hour's drive for walking or cycling. The Red Kite feeding centre at Gigrin Farm is near Rhayader, which is also within half an hour.
If you like walking, you're on the edge of a lot of paths. Offa's Dyke and the Severn Way are close by. The property listing has details about kayaking or clay shooting if that's your thing.
Facilities wise: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. It's wheelchair accessible to get in and around the main living area.
