White Horse Cottage
White Horse Cottage is in West Meon. It's a five bedroom place, sleeps ten. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. It's old. Parts of it are from the 1500s. That means low beams in some bedrooms and the stairs are steep and a bit narrow. You need to mind your head in a couple of spots.
There are two bathrooms. One has a walk-in shower, the other has a bath with a shower over it. The kitchen is at the back, it's a good size with a big table. There's a separate living room with a wood burner and a smaller snug room with a TV.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. You can bring one dog. The garden's lawned and looks out over fields towards West Meon House. There's parking for three cars and an electric vehicle charger. You can store bikes.
The village shop, a post office, a cafe, and a good butcher are about a hundred yards away. The pub, The Thomas Lord, is the same distance. It does food.
You're right in the South Downs National Park. The South Downs Way runs through here. Good walking and cycling straight from the door. East Meon is three miles away, it's nice, has a couple of pubs.
Within about half an hour you can be in Winchester for the cathedral, or Petersfield for the train to London. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is about 40 minutes. The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is good for a walk if you want a change. The coast at Hayling Island or the Witterings is about 45 minutes.
Facilities are all there: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, stairgate, bedding and towels included. There's a BBQ for the garden.
