Shepard's Den is a barn conversion on our farm here in Drayton. It's pretty much a separate little building in our garden, so you're on your own but we're nearby if you need anything.
It’s an upside-down layout, so you go upstairs to the living area. It’s to get the view, which is nice. You look out over the fields. It sleeps two, in one bedroom. Everything is new and clean, which is what the 5 Star rating is about. There's one bathroom with a shower.
The stairs up to the living room are a normal flight, but they're a bit steeper than house stairs. Something to be aware of.
You get your own patio with a table and chairs, plus a BBQ. There's a shared lawn area if you want more space. The farm track leads straight onto footpaths. You can walk for miles without seeing a road.
The village of East Meon is about a mile and a half away. It's got a shop and a couple of good pubs that do food. West Meon is close too. Petersfield is the nearest town for a bigger supermarket.
You're well placed for getting out. The South Downs National Park is on the doorstep. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is about half an hour's drive for the ships. Winchester is maybe 40 minutes. The New Forest is about the same. You can get to the coast at Hayling Island or the Witterings in under an hour.
It has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
