The Barn
The Barn is in Monkwood. It’s a hamlet, so it’s quiet. There’s a couple of other houses nearby but the barn itself is detached. You’ve got your own enclosed garden. It’s a converted barn, so there are oak beams and oak floors. They’re nice.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and two bathrooms which is handy. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means everything is in good order and it’s well equipped.
The place is good for walkers and cyclists. There are footpaths straight from the door. You can just set off.
The nearest shop is about three miles away in Cheriton, so you’ll want to drive for supplies. There’s a pub and restaurant about two miles away.
Alresford is six miles. It’s a nice town with old buildings, cafes, and some independent shops. They have a steam railway there which is good if you like that sort of thing.
You can get to a lot from here. The New Forest is about a 30 minute drive. Winchester is about 25 minutes. The coast, like around Southampton Water or over towards Dorset, is within an hour.
It says you can bring one well-behaved dog. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
