Peppercorn Cottage
Peppercorn Cottage is on a quiet lane in Cheriton. It's a brick and flint cottage with a thatched roof. The front garden is yours to use and it's enclosed.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The place has a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard throughout. You'll find it clean and well-equipped.
The door opens straight into the main living space. It's all open plan: kitchen, dining table, and sitting area with a wood burner. The kitchen is handmade and very good. The stairs are quite steep and a bit narrow, as you'd expect in an old cottage.
The local pub, The Flower Pots, is a few minutes' walk down the lane. They brew their own beer there and serve food.
Alresford is about three miles away. It's a nice Georgian town with good independent shops and places to eat. Winchester is seven miles. You've got the cathedral, the high street, and plenty of restaurants there.
For walking, the South Downs National Park is right on the doorstep. The Watercress Line steam railway runs from Alresford. If you like stately homes, Hinton Ampner is about a 20 minute drive and has lovely gardens.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking for one car on the gravel area opposite. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
