South Downs Lodge Soberton

South Downs Lodge is our place in Soberton, in Hampshire. It's a detached, single-storey lodge for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The lodge is on our land, which is about five acres. We run a riding school here, so there are stables and horses in the fields. You can see them from the windows. If you want to go riding, you can speak to us when you're here and we can sort something out. The property sits right on the Meon Valley Trail, which is an old railway line. It's perfect if you're walking or cycling, as you can just step out onto it.

The lodge itself is open plan. There's a kitchen area, a living and dining space, and the bedroom is through a door. It's all on the ground floor. There's a patio with a table and chairs, which gets the sun. You get the patio to yourselves. Parking is right outside.

Soberton is quiet. There are a couple of pubs you can walk to. We're on the edge of the South Downs. You'll see a lot of wildlife around, like red kites, deer, and pheasants.

If you want to go further afield, Portsmouth is about half an hour's drive. That's where the historic dockyard is, with HMS Victory. Winchester is a bit closer, maybe 25 minutes. It's a nice city to wander around, with the cathedral and some good shops. The south coast beaches, like at Hayling Island or West Wittering, are also within a 30-minute drive.

For facilities: there's a dishwasher, wifi, TV, and bedding and towels are included. There's bicycle storage if you need it. We don't allow pets, sorry.
