South Downs Lodge is a new, single-storey building on our yard in Soberton. It's detached, so there's no one next door. It's built for two people.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The main space is open plan with bifold doors that look out over our paddocks. There's a good sized bedroom with a king size bed and an en suite shower room.
It's all on one level, which is handy. The doors open right out onto your own gravel area with a table and chairs. Good for a quiet drink in the evening.
We're in the Meon Valley, right in the South Downs National Park. It's quiet. You can hear the horses. The White Lion pub is less than a mile down the road for food.
You can walk from the door. There's a footpath through the fields to Droxford, which is about a mile. It's on the River Meon. For planning walks, the South Downs National Park site is useful.
Bishop's Waltham and Wickham are about six miles away for bigger shops. Winchester and Portsmouth are roughly a 30 minute drive. Portsmouth has the Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays.
In terms of what's here: there's parking right outside, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and towels and bedding are included. There's also storage if you bring bikes. No pets.
