The Cart House is on the edge of Waltham Chase in Hampshire. It used to be a barn and you can tell. The kitchen is big with a high ceiling and lots of old beams. It feels solid.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one with its own shower room. The third bedroom is up a small staircase, a sort of mezzanine above the kitchen. That one has a toilet and basin up there too. There’s another little mezzanine area at the other end which looks over the fields, which is good for reading.
The pub is very close, just a minute's walk. The village has a butcher, bakery, greengrocer, that sort of thing. Bishop’s Waltham is nearby for a few shops and the old palace ruins.
Marwell Zoo is about fifteen minutes away by car. Portsmouth is about half an hour if you want to see the historic dockyard or go shopping at Gunwharf. Winchester is also under half an hour for the cathedral and the Christmas market. Paulton’s Park, which has Peppa Pig World, is a thirty minute drive.
As for the place itself: it’s detached, it’s got a garden with a patio, parking, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if needed. It’s wheelchair friendly at the entrance and has a wet room on the ground floor. There’s also a charger for electric cars.
No pets allowed.
