Lakeside View is in Lask Edge, Staffordshire. It's a two-storey stone cottage for two people.
It's got a four-star rating, which means it's comfortable but not huge. It's our smallest cottage on the estate. There's one bedroom upstairs, and you've got a lovely roll top bath up there too.
Downstairs is open plan, with the living area, kitchen, and a wood burning stove. The floors are stone, so it can feel cool, but the stove heats the space well.
You're on an estate, so you share some things with guests from the other cottages. There's a fishing lake. The indoor swimming pool is in a converted barn, and you book a private slot for an hour and a half during your stay. There's also a hot tub and large gardens.
The location is good for getting out. You're on the edge of the Peak District. Peak District National Park is about a 30-minute drive. Alton Towers is close by if that's your thing. For a good day out, Bakewell is about 40 minutes away, and you've got Chatsworth House there too.
Facilities wise: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, and all bedding and towels are included. The whole place is on one level except for the bedroom, which is upstairs. The stairs are typical cottage stairs.
Useful links: National Trust Biddulph Grange Garden and National Trust Little Moreton Hall are both nearby.
