Tranquillity

Tranquillity is in Stoke, out towards Endon. It's a converted stable block from 2022, set in about twelve acres of its own woodland and fields. You'll see nothing but countryside from the windows.

It's all on one level, which is handy. It sleeps four, but in one bedroom. That bedroom has a king-size bed and a set of bunk beds. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Everything is new and well-kept, which is why it's got the 5 Star rating.

You can bring dogs, up to three. The garden is enclosed, and you have direct access into the adjacent field from the property. Be aware the land is proper countryside, so it can get muddy. You'll want good shoes or boots. The walk back up from the woods is steep.

There's a wood burner for colder months. It works well. You've also got a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside.

Less than a mile down the lane there's a shop and a couple of pubs that do food. They're fine. The Caldon Canal is close by for flat walks or cycles. The Peak District National Park is about a twenty-minute drive to the northeast. Rudyard Lake is about ten minutes away by car if you fancy a stroll by the water.

For a day out, Alton Towers is half an hour away. The market town of Leek is fifteen minutes in the other direction for supermarkets and more shops.

If you're looking for information on the area, The Peak District National Park Authority site is useful.
