Little Pines Lodge
Little Pines Lodge is on the edge of Congleton, on the Staffordshire side. It's a detached, single-storey lodge, so it's just you and the fields. The views are good, proper countryside looking towards the Pennines.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one wet room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and everything is new. The whole place is open plan, so the bedroom area doesn't have a door. The wet room is walk-in and level, so it's fine if you have mobility issues.
It's got underfloor heating, which is very effective. There's an electric outdoor grill on the patio. The seating area outside has a sofa and chairs. It's a sun-trap in the afternoon.
You're about a five-minute drive from a supermarket in Congleton. The nearest pub is a ten-minute walk down the lane. It's a proper local.
For days out, you're in a decent spot. The Peak District National Park starts about 25 minutes away by car. Leek and its antique shops are about 20 minutes north. For National Trust places, Biddulph Grange Garden is closest, and Little Moreton Hall is that famous wonky house, about 15 minutes away.
Alton Towers is 20 minutes drive. Jodrell Bank is about half an hour. If you want a city, Manchester is just under an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's parking right next to the lodge, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, a TV, and all bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and inside. No pets.
