The Flat Congleton

The Flat is in Congleton, Cheshire. It's a two-bedroom apartment that sleeps six. It's on the first floor above our garage, at our home. We live in the main house, so we're around if you need anything, but you have your own entrance and the place to yourselves.

It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, not luxury. Everything works. There's one bathroom. We allow one well-behaved dog. The garden you see is ours, but you're welcome to use the bit with the patio table and chairs.

It's quiet here. You look out over fields. You can walk from the door along the lane or down to the canal, which is about ten minutes away. The town centre is a mile and a half. Congleton's a proper market town. It's got the usual supermarkets, a few decent pubs that do food, and some independent shops. The railway station is there if you want to go into Manchester without the drive.

The main thing is the location for getting out. The Peak District starts about a 15-minute drive away. The Peak District National Park site has good information for walks. You can be at Tegg's Nose or walking around The Roaches pretty quickly.

If you like old houses, Little Moreton Hall is close. It's that very wonky black and white Tudor one. Biddulph Grange Garden is about ten minutes by car and is good for a stroll. Jodrell Bank is maybe 20 minutes if you're into the space stuff.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. There's parking right outside for two cars. All the bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has the basics for cooking.
