The Windmill

The Windmill is in Glan yr afon, which is a quiet, rural spot on Anglesey. It's a detached windmill, part of a small cluster of three properties here on the site. You're on your own, but there are neighbours sometimes.

It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, one on the first floor and one on the second, and there are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.

The main thing to know is the stairs. They're the original windmill stairs, so they're steep and a bit narrow in places. They lead up to a top floor living room with a small balcony. The view from up there is really good, out over the fields.

It's a proper conversion, not just done up to look old. You'll see the original stone and wood. It's full of character because of that, but it also means the layout is what it is. The kitchen is open plan with the living area on the ground floor.

You've got a patio and garden area to use. There's parking right there. All the bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.

It's about a ten minute drive to the beach at Rhosneigr. That's a good sandy one. The shop and the local pub are about three miles away. For a meal out, you're looking at five miles or so.

If you want to explore, the whole Anglesey coastline is close. South Stack RSPB reserve is nearby for cliffs and seabirds. Plas Newydd is a National Trust house and gardens about twenty minutes away. Beaumaris with its castle is in that direction too. Back on the mainland, Snowdonia is about a thirty minute drive.

No pets, sorry. And because of the stairs, it might not suit very young children or anyone who finds steps difficult.
