Ach-Na-Clachan

Ach-Na-Clachan is a stone cottage near Gairloch. It's detached, so you're on your own. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Gairloch Bay towards the Torridon mountains and Skye. The garden is large and a bit wild. There are often sheep in the field next door.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not luxurious. It's a proper cottage.

You're about a mile and a half from the beach at Gairloch. The village pier is close, maybe a ten minute walk. There's a shop and a pub about 500 yards away. The local golf course is a 9-hole one.

For a swim if the sea's too cold, there's a pool at Poolewe, about six miles away. The famous Inverewe Garden is there too. The whole area is good for walking. You can drive to Torridon itself in under half an hour for serious hills.

Inside, it's got a woodburning stove for chilly evenings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi is there, but it's the countryside so it's not super fast. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.

For planning trips, the Walkhighlands site is good for routes. The National Trust for Scotland page has details for Inverewe.
