Mackenzie Cottage is in Poolewe. It's a detached cottage. The village is quiet and the scenery is good.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and everything works.
The living room has an electric log burner. It looks like a wood fire but it plugs in. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too.
One of the upstairs bedrooms has a big bed that can split into two singles if you need it. That room looks out over the river to the hills. The beach is about thirty yards away. It's a stony beach.
You can walk to the village shop and a cafe. There's a local pub. There's also a swimming pool in the village. The garden is enclosed, which is useful if you're bringing dogs. You can have two.
Inverewe Garden is just along the road. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland. It's worth seeing. The Gulf Stream means they can grow plants here you wouldn't expect.
You might see seals or otters from the shore. The area is good for birdwatching. For a bigger beach, Gairloch is about a twenty minute drive. Ullapool is about forty minutes away by car if you need a ferry or more shops.
There's parking at the cottage. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
