Eilean View (Island View)
Eilean View is in Inverasdale, on the coast looking over Loch Ewe. It's a detached house, so you're on your own. The reason you book it is for the view. You look right out over the water to the mountains on the other side.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's not a grand house, but the standard is good.
The house itself is spacious. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside. The garden is patioed, a good spot to sit with a drink.
A decent sandy beach is about two miles down the road. The shop and the nearest pub are in Poolewe, which is four miles. Gairloch is about nine miles. That's where you'll find more shops, a petrol station, and a few places to eat.
If you like gardens, the National Trust for Scotland's Inverewe Gardens are very close. They're impressive for up here. The whole area is good for walking, from coastal paths to proper hills. You can go kayaking or sailing on the loch if you're organised.
