The Cottage is our place in Lòndubh, just outside Poolewe. It's at the top of a bit of a slope, so you get a clear view out over Poolewe Bay. It's a bungalow, so it's all on one floor, which is handy.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The living room has a big picture window looking right out to sea. You'll spend a lot of time just looking out of that.
The kitchen is modern and has everything you'd need, with a table for four. The garden is fully enclosed with hedges. Part of it is open, with the sea view, and there's a more sheltered bit round the side if it's windy. It's a good spot.
You're about half a mile from the centre of Poolewe. There's a shop, a couple of places to eat, and a pub. The village has a swimming pool too, which is unusual for round here.
The beach is a short walk down the hill. You'll see seals often. Otters too, if you're quiet and lucky. For proper gardens, Inverewe Garden is just down the road. It's got all these plants that shouldn't grow this far north, but they do because of the Gulf Stream. It's worth a visit.
This whole bit of the west coast is good for walking. Gairloch is about twenty minutes' drive north, and Ullapool is about forty-five minutes south, if you need more shops or a bigger choice of places to eat.
For what's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
If you're looking into things to do, the Scottish Wildlife Trust site has good local information, and VisitScotland's Highlands page is useful for planning.
