The Cottage

The Cottage is a bungalow up in Lòndubh, which is near the village of Poolewe. It's detached, so no neighbours through the walls. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Poolewe Bay from the living room and the main garden. It's just sea and mountains.

It sleeps four, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxury. Everything's on one floor which is handy. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids. Part of it is quite sheltered.

Poolewe village is about half a mile down the hill. There's a shop, a pub that does food, and a café. There's also a swimming pool there if the weather isn't great for the beach.

The beaches around here are very good. Big stretches of sand. You can often see seals. For a different sort of walk, the Inverewe Garden is just down the road. It's quite something, with all the plants that grow in the Gulf Stream warmth.

You're well placed for going further into Wester Ross. Gairloch is about fifteen minutes by car for more shops and another good beach. If you want a proper day out, Ullapool is just over half an hour's drive north. From there you can get the ferry to the Outer Hebrides.

What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
