Beach Cottage
This is Beach Cottage in Gairloch. It's on the edge of the village, set back a bit from the main road. The view from the front door is straight down Loch Gairloch, across to Skye.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a modern build underneath, so it's warm and straightforward, not an old crofter's cottage. Everything's on one level, which is handy. The garden is enclosed, if that matters.
From the gate, you can walk down to a small beach in a few minutes. For a longer beach walk, you'd drive to the big sands at Gairloch or Melvaig.
The village has what you need: a small supermarket, a couple of hotels that do food, a petrol station. The Mountain Coffee Company is good for a coffee and a bite. If you want a proper supermarket, Ullapool is about an hour's drive south.
You're right on the North Coast 500 route here. It's busy in summer. For walking, the Torridon hills are about half an hour's drive. Inverewe Garden is 20 minutes up the road, if the weather turns. Boat trips for wildlife go from the village pier; you see dolphins regularly.
Inside, it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
