Beach Cottage is in Gairloch. It's a small, one bedroom place for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
It's about 200 yards from the beach. You can see the sea from the front window. The garden is enclosed, so it's private and good if you're bringing a dog.
Inside, it's all on one level. The bathroom has a shower, not a bath. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. The parking is right outside.
For facilities, you've got WiFi and a TV if you need them. The local pub is a five minute walk. It does decent food.
From here you can walk along the coast in either direction. The beach is sandy and good for a proper walk. If you drive, Inverewe Garden is about 20 minutes up the road. It's a brilliant spot, even if you're not a big gardener. The National Trust for Scotland runs it.
Further afield, Ullapool is about an hour's drive south. It's a good base for a day trip if you want to get the ferry to the Outer Hebrides. Otherwise, you're really here for the immediate area: the sea, the hills, and the quiet.
