Newport Bridge Lodge is on the Roseberry View Retreat site just outside Great Ayton. It’s one of ten lodges set around a small lake.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It’s 5 Star, which means it’s well-equipped and in good order. It was new in 2019.
The lodge faces the lake, so you get that view from the decking. You’ve got your own hot tub out there. There’s a wood burner inside for cooler evenings.
On the site, there’s a children’s play area and a dog exercise field. You also have shared use of a sauna that looks out towards Roseberry Topping.
For facilities, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. It’s wheelchair accessible. Parking is right outside.
There’s a pub and restaurant about ten minutes' walk away. The village of Great Ayton is a mile away. You can walk it by following the footpath through the fields, or drive it in a few minutes. There are shops there, including a good ice cream and pie shop.
You’re looking straight at Roseberry Topping from the lodge. It’s a good walk from the site. Captain Cook’s Monument is nearby too.
You’re on the edge of the North York Moors. Guisborough Forest is close by for walking. For a day out, the coast at Saltburn is about a 20 minute drive. Whitby, or the city of York, are both under an hour away.
