The Endeavour Lodge is on the Roseberry View Lodge Retreat, near Great Ayton. It’s a modern lodge, one of ten, built in 2019. They’re set around a private lake, so you get a view of the water and the hills. Specifically, you can see Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook's Monument from the patio.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s a 5 Star place, which here means it’s well-equipped and comfortable. There’s a wood burner for cooler evenings and a hot tub on the deck.
The site has landscaped grounds you can walk around. There’s a communal sauna with a glass front, so you can look out at the view while you’re in there. They’ve also got a small boating lake on-site, a kids' playground, and an area for dogs.
You can walk to Great Ayton village. It’s about a mile via a public footpath through the fields. There are a few local shops and pubs there. They’re known for an ice cream shop and a pie shop. The nearest pub is about 600 yards from the lodge site.
For days out, you’re right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Roseberry Topping is a popular walk. The coast, like Saltburn, is about 13 miles. You can get to Middlesbrough or Stockton for bigger shops quite quickly if you need to.
Inside, it’s open plan. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, and a beer pump if you fancy a draught pint. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if needed. Parking is right outside the lodge.
