Stan Hollis Lodge

Stan Hollis Lodge is part of the Roseberry View Retreat near Great Ayton. It was built in 2019. There are ten lodges around a private lake, and you get views of Roseberry Topping and the Cleveland Hills.

It sleeps eight. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star lodge, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The main room is open plan. There's a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You get a patio with a BBQ, and there's parking right outside.

The lodge has a hot tub on the deck. There's also a beer pump in the kitchen, which is a bit different. You get a fold-out bed with a proper mattress if you need it.

On site, there's the lake, a small kids' playground, and a communal barbecue area. There's also a clear-fronted sauna you can book to use, which looks out towards Roseberry Topping.

The village of Great Ayton is about a mile away. You can walk there via a footpath through the fields, or drive in a couple of minutes. It has a few shops, pubs, and a famous ice cream shop. The nearest pub is about 600 yards from the lodge.

You're on the edge of the North York Moors. Roseberry Topping is right there for a walk. Captain Cook's Monument is nearby too. The coast at Saltburn is about 13 miles. You can be in the middle of the North York Moors National Park in under half an hour.

For a day out, Whitby is about 40 minutes' drive. So is York, if you go the other way. Middlesbrough is closer for supermarkets and the like.

No pets allowed, sorry.
