River Tees Lodge is on the Roseberry View Lodge Retreat. That's about a mile from the village of Great Ayton. It's a modern lodge, built in 2019. The main thing is the view. You look right out over the private lake towards Roseberry Topping. It's a good view.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a five star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings and a hot tub on the deck. The kitchen is open plan.
On site, there's a shared sauna with a glass front, so you get that same view. There's a small kids' play area and a dedicated dog exercise field. You can also use the small boating lake.
A public footpath goes from the site through the fields into Great Ayton. That takes about 20 minutes on foot. The village has a few shops, some pubs, and a famous ice cream shop. The nearest pub is about 600 yards away.
For days out, you're right on the edge of the North York Moors. Roseberry Topping is the obvious hike, it's that distinctive hill you can see from the lodge. Captain Cook's Monument is nearby too. The North York Moors National Park is about a 15 minute drive south. The coast, spots like Saltburn, is about 30 minutes by car.
Facilities are all included. Washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ and a highchair and cot if you need them.
