River Tees Lodge
This is River Tees Lodge. It's on the Roseberry View retreat in Great Ayton. The place was built new in 2019. It's one of ten lodges set around a private lake. You look out over the water towards the Cleveland Hills, and you can see Roseberry Topping from the decking.
It sleeps eight. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it's set up for a couple of families or a bigger group. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out. There's a wood burner, a hot tub on the deck, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
The site has some shared things. There's a clear-fronted sauna you can book that also looks at Roseberry Topping. There's a small kids' playground, a dog exercise area, and a communal barbecue spot. There's a little boating lake on-site too.
You can walk into Great Ayton village through the fields, it's about a mile. They've got shops, pubs, and a famous ice cream and pie shop. The nearest pub is about 600 yards away.
Location wise, you're on the edge of the North York Moors. Roseberry Topping and Captain Cook's Monument are a short drive for a walk. The coast at Saltburn is about 13 miles. For a bigger day out, Whitby is roughly half an hour's drive. Middlesbrough is to the north if you need bigger shops.
