The Haybarn is a converted barn near Ferndown. It sleeps twelve, has six bedrooms and four bathrooms. It’s got a five star rating which means it’s been done to a high standard, it’s comfortable and everything works.
It’s detached and you get your own garden with a patio, a barbecue and a hot tub. The garden is enclosed. There’s parking right there.
Inside, it’s spacious. There’s a wood burning stove for cooler nights. It’s got things like a record player with a selection of vinyl, books, and board games. The washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels are all included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and the main living space is on the ground floor.
It’s next to some horse stables, down a track. Because of the livestock, fireworks aren’t allowed in the garden. You can bring up to two dogs.
There are some shared facilities with the other cottages on site. There’s a games room with table football and table tennis. Outside, there’s a shared play area for kids with a slide and a playhouse, and things like boules, badminton and a large chess set.
For location, it’s rural but not isolated. There’s a local pub and a golf course you can walk to via the Castleman Trailway, which is a gravel track on the National Cycle Network. The trail goes into miles of woodland, good for walks and bikes. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away.
You’re about half an hour from a lot of places. The sandy beaches at Bournemouth and Poole are roughly ten miles. The Jurassic Coast is within easy reach. Wimborne Minster is a market town about four miles away with shops, cafes and a theatre.
For days out, there are several National Trust properties nearby, like Kingston Lacy and Brownsea Island. The Cranborne Chase National Landscape is also close by.
If you’re coming with a bigger group, this cottage can be booked with the others here to sleep up to thirty-four people.
