The Townhouse
The Townhouse is in the middle of Wimborne Minster, right next to the Tivoli Theatre. If you book a show, you literally walk out your front door and into the theatre. It’s a tall Georgian place, so it's got the original features: wooden floors, sash windows, the fireplaces. It's listed, so we can't change much, but it’s in good nick.
It sleeps ten, across five bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy for a big group. One bedroom is on the ground floor. The stairs are normal, not too steep. There's an open fire in the living room, and the kitchen is big enough for everyone to sit around the table.
Outside, there's a small enclosed patio with a table and a barbecue. The main public car park is about a five-minute walk away. You get a permit for it.
The town centre is a two-minute walk. There's a good pub that does food about a hundred yards away, and plenty of cafes and shops. The Minster is worth a look, it's ancient. The Gin House has a massive menu if that's your thing.
For a day out, the beach at Sandbanks is about half an hour's drive. The proper Jurassic Coast, like Lulworth or Durdle Door, is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. Kingston Lacy (National Trust) is very close. The New Forest is about a 20-minute drive, good for walking and seeing the ponies. Moors Valley Country Park is nearby for walking, cycling, or Go Ape.
Facilities: it's got everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible to get in and to the ground floor bedroom and shower room. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
