Gardener's Cottage
Gardener's Cottage is in Old Montrose, near Montrose itself. It's on the grounds of the big house, but it's detached and private. You can't see it from the main road.
It's what they call an upside-down cottage. The bedrooms are on the ground floor, and the living area is upstairs. The main bedroom has French doors that open onto a private, sunny patio. It's quiet out there.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating so it's well looked after. The stairs inside are normal, not steep. It's wheelchair friendly to get in the front door, but the living space is upstairs, so that's worth knowing.
You get the whole place to yourselves, plus you're allowed to use the main walled garden here. There's a hard tennis court and a small putting green you can book. We keep it tidy.
It's very close to the Montrose Basin Nature Reserve. You can walk out the gate and be on the path by the water in a minute. Good for birdwatching.
The town of Montrose is about a ten minute drive. There's a big sandy beach there. Shops, pubs, the usual. For a bigger beach, Lunan Bay is about twenty minutes north. It's good for a walk.
If you're a golfer, Carnoustie is forty minutes south. St Andrews is about an hour and a quarter. There are loads of other courses closer.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner for the cooler nights. WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
