The Stables

The Stables is in Old Montrose, Aberdeenshire. It's in our garden, next to the Montrose Basin Reserve. The place is detached and sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy.

It's been done up to a high standard, a 5 Star place. The living room has a gallery walkway looking down from the first floor, which is a bit different. The stairs are open-tread, so you need to be a bit careful if you've got small children.

You get your own patio and garden area. You're also welcome to use our big walled garden, the hard tennis court, and the little putting green we've got. We sometimes use them too, but there's plenty of space.

Montrose town is about three and a half miles away. There's a shop, a few pubs, and places to eat there. The beach is about the same distance. It's a good, sandy beach. For other beaches, Lunan Bay is a short drive and is popular for surfing. St Cyrus is also close.

If you like golf, you're in the right spot. There are over thirty courses within an hour, including Carnoustie and St Andrews. Montrose itself has links courses right by the sea.

For walks, the Montrose Basin is right on the doorstep. It's a wildlife reserve. You can also get to the Angus Glens easily for more serious hill walking. If you're driving, Aberdeen is about an hour north, and Dundee is about 45 minutes south.

In the house, you've got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's satellite TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible on the ground floor. You can bring up to two dogs.
