The Stables

The Stables is in Old Montrose, Aberdeenshire. It's on our land, next to the Montrose Basin Nature Reserve. We've got a few cottages here, but they're all separate. Yours is detached.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a five star rating, so it's well kitted out and comfortable. The stairs are fine, but there's a sort of open gallery looking down into the living room. It's a feature of the building.

You're about three and a half miles from Montrose town centre. There's a shop, a pub, and restaurants there. Montrose has a good beach and a couple of golf courses. The beach is sandy.

It's a good spot for getting out. The Montrose Basin Wildlife Reserve is right next door for birdwatching. Lunan Bay and St Cyrus beach are a short drive away. If you're a golfer, there are loads of courses around, including Carnoustie. St Andrews is under an hour and a half away.

For facilities, you've got the main things. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. There's parking right there. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. Speaking of which, we take up to two pets. There's also a BBQ, a woodburning stove, and you can use our walled garden and the hard tennis court we have on site.

Some other organisations have good local information: National Trust for Scotland Aberdeenshire and NatureScot.
