The Old Gasworks Building is in Old Montrose, on the edge of the Montrose Basin nature reserve. It's a detached cottage. We live in the main house next door, but the cottage is all yours.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It's all on one level, so that's handy. There's a private patio out the back.
You can use our walled garden and the hard tennis court. There's a small putting green too, if that's your thing.
Montrose town is about ten minutes by car. There's a good beach, shops, and a few places to eat. The Basin is right there for birdwatching. The Scottish Wildlife Trust has a visitor centre.
Lunan Bay is a lovely beach about fifteen minutes north. For a proper day out, Arbroath and St Cyrus are within half an hour. If you're a golfer, Carnoustie is about twenty-five minutes south. St Andrews is just over an hour's drive.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
