Macduff Tower is a holiday flat inside Kinnaird Castle. It's on the second floor. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Sleeps four. It’s got a five star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The main room is large, with good views over the parkland. The main bedroom has a four-poster bed. The second bedroom can be set up as a twin or a double, just let me know which you need. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms.
You’ll have a bit of a garden area outside with a barbecue and a table. The castle tennis court is there for guests to use. You're free to walk around the estate paths. The river is good for fishing if you have a permit.
It’s a working estate, so you’ll see farm stuff about. Red squirrels are common. The wildlife is good.
For shops and a pub, you’ll need to drive to Brechin, about three miles. Montrose is about seven miles away for the beach and more shops.
In the flat, there’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Wi-Fi works. I’ll leave some basics for you like bread, milk, eggs, and bacon so you don’t have to shop straight away. I can also leave a pre-made meal for your first night if you arrange it beforehand.
Up to two dogs are welcome. There’s a cot and a highchair here if you need them.
It’s quiet here. Good for walking, golf, or just sitting. If you want to explore, you’re not far from the Cairngorms National Park or the coast around Montrose. Useful links for planning: Cairngorms National Park and National Trust for Scotland.
