Glen Apartment
This is Glen Apartment. It's on the first and second floor of Kinnaird Castle, in Angus. It sleeps four, across two bedrooms. One bathroom.
It's a 5 Star rating. That's because it's been done to a high standard. It feels bright and modern inside. The main living area is open plan, so it's spacious. The bathroom is very big. There's a separate utility room which is handy for drying boots or for dogs.
The owners will leave you a welcome pack with basics like bacon, eggs, bread, and milk. You can also arrange for them to leave a meal for your first night if you want.
The apartment is part of a 7,000-acre estate. There are walking paths right from the door through the grounds, down to the River Southesk. You might see red squirrels or ospreys. There's a private tennis court guests can use, and plenty of quiet roads for cycling.
You're about three miles from a village with a shop and a pub. The coast at Montrose is about seven miles away. For a bigger town, Brechin is close by.
If you're into fishing or golf, you're in the right area. There are several good courses nearby, like Edzell or Montrose. For a day out, Glamis Castle is about half an hour's drive. Or you can head into the Cairngorms National Park, which is also within half an hour.
In terms of facilities, it has the usual: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Parking is right there. Bedding and towels are included. They allow up to two pets. They can provide a cot and highchair.
If you need more space, this apartment can be booked along with two others in the castle for larger groups.
