Glen Apartment is in the west wing of Kinnaird Castle, near Brechin. It's an apartment, not a whole house, but it's on two floors so it feels quite separate.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One bathroom, but it's a very big one. It has a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. The owner leaves a welcome pack with basics like bread, eggs, bacon, and some cereals.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a separate laundry room which is handy for drying them off, or your coats.
The apartment looks out over the front of the castle and the courtyard. It's light. The kitchen and living area is all open plan.
The estate is private. You can walk around the grounds on paths that go down to the River Southesk. There's a tennis court you can use. You often see red squirrels and birds like woodpeckers on the estate.
A shop, pub, and restaurant are about three miles away in Brechin. The coast at Lunan Bay is about seven miles.
If you like fishing, the river here is known for salmon. There are several golf courses nearby, like Edzell and Montrose. For a day out, RSPB Montrose Basin is good for birdwatching. Glamis Castle is about half an hour's drive. Dundee, for the V&A or the RRS Discovery, is also around 30 minutes.
Facilities include parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. They have a cot and highchair if you need them.
You can book the apartment with two others in the castle if you're a bigger group.
