Hen Ysgol

Hen Ysgol is in Llanfaethlu, up on the north coast of Anglesey. It's the old village school house. It's detached and on its own, so it's very quiet. You get the enclosed garden to yourselves.

It sleeps eight people. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The stairs inside are the original ones. They're narrow in places and a bit steep.

The views are the main thing. From the front you can see the sea, and from the back it's all fields. It's in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the countryside round here is very good.

The nearest beach is a few minutes' drive away. For a bigger beach, Trearddur Bay is about 20 minutes by car. It's good for swimming and rock pools.

You can get to Holyhead in 15 minutes if you need a supermarket. The town has a marina and you can catch the ferry to Ireland from there. Snowdonia National Park is on the mainland, about a 30 minute drive. That's where you go for proper mountain walks.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to four dogs. There's parking on site.
