Y Angorfa - The Anchorage
Y Angorfa, or The Anchorage, is our place up in Llanfair yng Nghornwy, right at the top of Anglesey. It's a bungalow, so it's all on one level. It's detached and there's no one right next door. You get a fair bit of land with it, all fenced in.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. All the bedrooms have their own en-suite. Three of the rooms have king-size beds and the fourth is a twin. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's very well equipped.
The main living space is open plan, kitchen and dining area together. There's a Rangemaster cooker and two full-size fridge freezers. There's a wine fridge too. The living area has a wood burner and a large TV with Netflix.
The garden is enclosed. There's outdoor furniture and a BBQ. It's a good spot, up on a bit of a rise. You can see the fields and, in the distance, the Irish Sea.
You're about a ten-minute drive from the coast here. Cemaes Bay is the closest for a proper beach. The Cemlyn Nature Reserve is very close. You can walk to the lagoon from the cottage. It's known for its terns. We see seals regularly, and sometimes porpoises.
For other days out, Holyhead is about twenty minutes by car. The South Stack Cliffs RSPB reserve is a bit further, maybe thirty minutes. There's good coastal walking all along that stretch. Beaumaris, with its castle, is about forty minutes drive.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. The whole place has WiFi. We take up to three dogs. The property is adapted with grab rails in the bathrooms.
If you book over Christmas, we put the decorations and trees up.
