The Water Castle
The Water Castle is what it sounds like: a converted water tower. It's on its own, not attached to anything. It used to hold water for the farm and now it's a house. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level, which is handy. You get the patio and garden area to yourselves.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating, which reflects the standard. It's been done up to a good level, with decent things in it. It feels calm and modern inside, which is a contrast to the old stone outside.
You're out in the country here. It's quiet. The nearest proper pub is in Newton village, about three miles away. It's recommended and does good food. The nearest shop is five miles, so you'll want to bring supplies with you.
You're in a good spot for the area. Corbridge village is close, which is nice for a wander. Hadrian's Wall is right on the doorstep for walking. English Heritage has details for the forts. Hexham is a few minutes' drive; it's got the abbey and a racecourse.
The Northumberland coast is about 50 minutes in the car. The beaches are great. You can do Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle in a day if you want. Northumberland National Park is close by for more walking.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, a TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right there. No pets, sorry.
