Tranquillity Cottage

This is Tranquillity Cottage in Winfrith Newburgh. It's a thatched cottage, one of a small row. They're old, 17th century, and Grade II listed. You've got your own garden, it's a good size and looks onto fields.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, but it's an old cottage. The stairs are steep and a bit curly. The ceilings are low and beamed in the bedrooms, so watch your head.

There's a shop about 200 yards away, and a couple of pubs that do food. You're in the Dorset AONB here. The coast is close, about three miles. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are the big ones nearby. You can walk to the coast from here if you're up for it.

Dorchester is eight miles away. Weymouth, with the beach, is eleven. If you've got kids, or just an interest, Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are within a ten minute drive. Corfe Castle is about twenty minutes away.

For a longer day out, you can drive to Poole Harbour. From there you can get a ferry to Brownsea Island. Swanage is along the coast as well.

What's here: the garden is enclosed. There's an open fire in the main room. We provide wood. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Parking is right outside.
