Advantage Point

This is Advantage Point in West Lulworth. It’s a detached bungalow, so no stairs to worry about. It sleeps up to ten people. Five bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, so it’s well equipped and comfortable.

The main thing is the location. You can walk down to Lulworth Cove in about ten minutes. Durdle Door is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes on foot. The views from the front of the house are very good, looking out over the fields towards the sea. There’s a veranda and decking out front to sit and take it in.

Inside, the living room is large, with sofas and an open fireplace. The dining table seats ten. The kitchen has what you’d expect: fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, a coffee machine. One bathroom is on the ground floor with a shower over the bath, the other is on the first floor with a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

Outside, there’s a garden mainly laid to lawn at the back, which is fenced. The front has the decking and patio. There’s parking for several cars on the drive.

You can bring up to three dogs. All bedding and towels are provided. There’s wifi.

In the village, which is a short walk, there’s a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a restaurant. For a bigger shop, you’d drive to Wool or Dorchester.

Dorchester is about twenty minutes by car. Further afield, within half an hour or so, you’ve got the Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World, and Weymouth. Poole Harbour and the Purbeck hills are also within easy reach.

If you’re planning walks, the South West Coast Path is right there. For information on the area and other days out, these are useful: Jurassic Coast Trust and National Trust Dorset.
