The Retreat is in West Lulworth village. It's an end-of-terrace house. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The cottage has been done up, but it's still got old features. There are some exposed brick walls. There's a wood burner in the lounge and an old Rayburn oven in the kitchen. The stairs are the original cottage ones, so they're fairly narrow and a bit steep.
The garden is small and on a slope. It's got a decked patio area with a table and chairs, and the view over the fields is nice. It's a quiet spot to sit.
You're right in the village. The village shop is a two-minute walk for basics. There are a couple of pubs close by. One is a 16th-century thatched place, The Castle Inn, which is supposed to be one of the oldest in Dorset. They serve food.
Lulworth Cove is about half a mile down the hill. It's a famous spot. From there, you can walk along the coast path to Durdle Door, the big stone arch in the sea. It's about a mile and a half walk, but it's hilly. The path is part of the South West Coast Path.
For a bigger town, Weymouth is a 20-minute drive. They've got a proper seafront, shops, and a big sandy beach. You can also get to Corfe Castle in about 25 minutes. It's a ruined castle on a hill run by the National Trust.
Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. No pets allowed.
