The Hive
The Hive is a wooden holiday cabin in Crossways, Dorset. It's detached and sits in a quiet bit of a Park Dean holiday park. The park itself is big, over 40 acres of woodland. You get the cabin to yourselves, it's not shared.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and each has its own bathroom, which is handy. We take one well-behaved dog. The rating is 3 Star. It's comfortable and clean, think more practical than luxurious.
Because it's on a holiday park, there are facilities you can use. There's an indoor swimming pool, a sports complex, a games room, and things like that. You need a family pass for full access, which you buy on site. There's also a dry-ski slope and a fishing lake, but you pay extra for those. The on-site shop, pub, and restaurant are useful.
The cabin has a patio and garden area. Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
Location wise, you're in Thomas Hardy country. The Jurassic Coast is a short drive away. Weymouth with its beach and promenade is close. For days out, you've got the Weymouth Sealife Centre, Monkey World, the Tank Museum, and Abbotsbury Swannery all within about half an hour.
