North Barn
North Barn is just outside Affpuddle in Dorset. It's a thatched, listed barn conversion, surrounded by fields. You get the place to yourselves, and the garden is enclosed.
It sleeps eight people in five bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's a bit nicer than the basics. The stairs are a spiral staircase. They're quite steep.
There's a footpath from the house across the fields to Tolpuddle village. The local pub is about a mile and a half away. The nearest shop is three miles.
You'll need a car to get about. For a day out, the Jurassic Coast is about half an hour's drive. You can walk from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door. Poole Harbour is similar, for boats over to Brownsea Island.
If you're looking for things to do, Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are both within half an hour. The Thomas Hardy's Cottage is a National Trust site nearby.
Inside, it's spacious. There's a wood burner in the living room, and the kitchen has an Aga. There's a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
