Oak Pod is on our farm in Dudleston, Shropshire. It's a wooden glamping pod for two people. One main room with a seating area that converts into the bed. You can have it as two singles or one big double.
It's a 2 Star rated place, which means it's basic but clean and functional. You should know it doesn't have its own bathroom. There's a modern shared shower block about a minute's walk away. It has proper showers, toilets, and a sunroom. There's an outdoor sink there too, useful for washing up after a barbecue.
The views are nice. You can see fields and a church in the distance. It's quiet. Bedding is supplied, but it comes in bags for you to make up the bed yourselves.
The farm is between Ellesmere and Oswestry. Ellesmere is about five miles away. It's got the meres, which are nice lakes for a walk. St Martins village is two miles away and has a good supermarket, a cafe, and a pub.
You're very close to the Welsh border here, about a mile. Llangollen is a 20 minute drive. You can go on the steam train there, or walk up to the castle ruins. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a World Heritage Site and worth seeing. It's about a 25 minute drive.
For history, Chirk Castle is about 20 minutes away. Shrewsbury and Chester are both under an hour's drive if you fancy a bigger town.
On site, there are four other pods. You can book them together if you're coming as a group. We allow up to two dogs per pod.
