This is Broadoak Barn. It's ours. It's in Penley in north Wales, about halfway between Wrexham and Ellesmere.
It's a detached barn we converted. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. We've got a 5 Star rating, which to us just means we've tried to make it really comfortable and keep it in good nick. It's not huge, but it feels light and spacious.
The garden at the back is south facing and enclosed. Good spot to sit out. There's a patio, a BBQ, and space for bikes if you bring them. The woodburner works and we leave logs for you.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are included. The WiFi is okay for normal use. We decorate it for Christmas if you're booking over the festive period.
You can bring two dogs. The garden is secure and there are footpaths and fields nearby you can use straight from the door.
For shops and a pub, you need to drive to Ellesmere. That's about two and a half miles. It's a small town on the meres, nice for a stroll.
You're well placed here for getting about. Chester is about half an hour's drive. Shrewsbury is similar. The Llangollen area is close, with the canal and steam railway. Beeston Castle is right on your doorstep if you like a good ruin. The National Trust page for Beeston has the details.
Further into Wales, you've got Chirk Castle and Powis Castle within about 40 minutes. The Visit Wales site is useful for planning if you're not from the area.
Parking is on the gravel right next to the barn.
