Willington Lodge is near Horseman's Green, right on the border between North Wales and Cheshire. It's a big Georgian house, Grade II listed. It sleeps twenty-three people in eight bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which helps with a group that size.
The rating is five stars, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. It's set up for big get-togethers and is also a wedding venue. If you want to book it for a wedding, you'd need to contact them directly.
The grounds are large. There are lawns, a walled garden, some courtyards, and a couple of ponds. It's a rural spot, so it's quiet, but you're not completely isolated.
You're about ten minutes from Whitchurch, which is a decent market town with shops and pubs. Ellesmere is about the same distance, another nice town for a look around. For a bigger day out, Shrewsbury and Chester are both roughly half an hour's drive away. Chester has the zoo, the races, and the city walls. Shrewsbury has the castle and the river.
The house is wheelchair accessible at the entrance and has a ground floor wet room. There are stairs inside, and some of them are steep, narrow, or spiral. It's an old house, so that's to be expected.
Facilities are comprehensive. It has things like a woodburning stove, a BBQ, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. WiFi is included. You can bring up to two pets. Bedding and towels are provided. There's on-site parking and bicycle storage.
For local walks and cycling, the area is good for it. The Mercian Way cycle route is nearby. If you're planning trips out, these sites might be useful: Visit Wales and for Chester specifically, English Heritage has information on the city walls and other historical sites.
