Honeysuckle Cottage

Honeysuckle Cottage is on my farm, about a mile south of Golspie. It's semi-detached, the one on the left. You'll see sheep and cattle in the fields around it. The views from the front look out over open land towards the hills.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms and has one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and has everything you need. The cottage walls are stone, so it stays cool in summer and the woodburner keeps it warm when it's cold.

Golspie has a Co-op supermarket, a couple of pubs that do food, cafes, and a good ice cream shop. There's a sandy beach and a golf course. The train station is there too, so you can get the train south to Inverness or north without driving.

You can walk straight from the door onto a network of paths. The beach at Golspie is about a twenty-five minute walk. For a longer stretch of sand, Brora's beach is a ten minute drive south. The North Coast 500 route passes nearby if you're touring.

Dunrobin Castle is just north of Golspie. It's worth a visit for the gardens and the falconry displays. Further afield, you can be in Inverness in under an hour or up to the far north in a similar time.

The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a small patio area with furniture and parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.

For walking and things to do, Walkhighlands is good for route planning, and National Trust for Scotland for other local sites.
