The Hideaway

The Hideaway is an annexe attached to our house in Holford. It's for two people, so it's a studio layout. One room with the bed, sofa, and kitchen area, and a separate bathroom.

It's got a four star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The main thing is the view. You look out from the garden over fields towards the Bristol Channel. On a clear day you can see the Welsh coast.

The garden is walled and secure, so it's good if you're bringing a dog. There's a dog shower by the front gate we use, which you're welcome to use too.

Inside, there's a wood burner. We leave some logs to get you started. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine with a few pods. The WiFi is fine for browsing and emails.

You're right on the edge of the Quantock Hills. You can walk straight from the door onto the hills. The path down to the beach at Kilve is about a thirty minute walk. It's stony, not sandy.

There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. It's dog friendly and does food. For a bigger shop, you'd need to drive to Bridgwater or Minehead.

Within about half an hour you can get to Dunster with its castle and steam railway, or the beach at Blue Anchor. Exmoor is just the other side of the hills.
