The Milking Parlour is on Marsh Lane, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. It's a converted farm building, which means it's got thick stone walls and underfloor heating. It stays warm.
It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms upstairs, all king-size beds. Two of the beds can be split into singles if that helps. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite shower room.
You park right outside the door. Inside, there's a kitchen diner on one side and a living room with a log burner on the other. The living room doors go straight out into the garden.
The garden is enclosed. It looks out over the valley. The hot tub is there, under a shelter. It fits about six adults.
This cottage is next to another one called The Cow Shed. There's a gate between the two gardens. So if a bigger group rents both, you can go between them. Otherwise, the gate stays shut.
There are two pubs you can walk to. Both do food.
If you drive, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. You can be in the national park in a few minutes. Good walking from the door, but even better a short drive away. Curbar Edge or Stanage Edge are about a 25-minute drive. Mam Tor is similar. Bakewell is about 20 minutes away for cafes and the pudding. Castleton's good too.
For family days out, Chatsworth House and its farmyard is close. Alton Towers is about half an hour away.
Facilities: it's got what you'd expect. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
