Lodge 38
This is Lodge 38 on the Stonham Barns site in Suffolk. It's a detached lodge, new for 2023, so everything's clean and working.
It sleeps six, but that's across two bedrooms and a sofa bed. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on one level, and the doors are wide, so it works if you have mobility issues or a wheelchair.
You've got your own fenced-off terrace out the front. It looks directly over one of the fishing lakes. You can sit out there with a drink and watch.
Inside, it's open plan. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs.
The lodge is part of Stonham Barns. It's a big site with things on it. There's a bar and restaurant that does food, and you get a discount as a guest. There's an owl sanctuary, a little play barn for kids, adventure golf, and an aqua park. There are also two fishing lakes right here. You can walk around the 110 acres.
If you want to go out, you're about half an hour's drive from the Suffolk coast. Framlingham with its castle is close. Aldeburgh and Southwold are the classic seaside towns to visit, both about 30 minutes away. For a different day out, National Trust Dunwich is on the coast, and English Heritage Framlingham Castle is nearby.
That's about it. It's a straightforward, modern place on a site with things to do if you don't want to travel far.
