Clamp Farm Barn is near Stowmarket, just off the main road to town. It used to be a farm building. We've done it up, so it's modern inside but you can see all the old beams. It sleeps a lot of people, twelve across six bedrooms, which is why groups tend to book it.
You get the whole barn and the annexe over the pool. There are three bathrooms, so that helps with a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is you have your own indoor heated swimming pool. It's in a separate building next to the barn. There's a little bar area in there with a fridge, useful for drinks. There's also a games room with a pool table and darts.
The garden is split between the front and back, with good hedges for privacy. There's plenty of parking for several cars.
It's worth mentioning the stairs. Some of them are steep and a bit narrow, which is common in old places like this. They're fine if you take your time.
There's a shop and a pub about two miles away in Stowmarket. The town itself has supermarkets and a few places to eat. The train station there gets you to London in about an hour and a half.
For local days out, the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket is good, especially with kids. Lavenham is lovely, about twenty minutes away. It's an old wool town with crooked timber-framed houses. Bury St Edmunds is maybe half an hour's drive, or you can head towards the coast to places like Southwold. The Sutton Hoo burial site is about forty minutes away and run by the National Trust.
What's included: all the bedding and towels, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, dishwasher. There's a wood burner. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. Sorry, no pets.
