The Prince is a boat. A proper fishing boat from the 1930s, I think. We lived on it for five years, then had it hauled up and restored. It's on land now, in a field in Glendaruel. It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's not huge, because it's a boat. But it's all there. The bed's in the forepeak, which is the pointy bit at the front. There's a wood burner, a small kitchen, and a shower room. Everything works. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly good.
You get the field to yourselves. There's a picnic table outside. The view is just fields and hills. It's very quiet.
You're on what they call Argyll's Secret Coast. The sea loch at Otter Ferry is about a ten minute drive for a pint at the Oyster Bar. Tighnabruaich village is close, with shops and a post office. Portavadie has a marina with a restaurant and a spa pool you can book into.
For walking, the Cowal Way long-distance path is nearby. The Argyll Forest, which is part of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, has plenty of trails. You can get a three-minute ferry from Colintraive over to the Isle of Bute for the day. Rothesay is a classic Victorian seaside town.
Facilities: There's a dishwasher, bedding and towels are included, parking is right there. No pets. It's a unique place. If you need space for four, you can also book the Hobgoblin Apartment next door.
