This is The Dairy. It's near Otter Ferry in Argyll. It's a conversion from an old steading on a farm.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-fitted, but it's not huge. You're on the ground floor, which is handy.
The main thing is the space outside. You get access to about 150 acres of private woodland and fields that belong to the estate. There's a river, the Ruel, with a fishing hut. You can fish for trout and salmon there, which is included. You'll see a lot of birds and deer.
It's very quiet. The nearest shop is about thirteen miles away in Tighnabruaich, so you need to come prepared. There's a summer shop a bit closer, but it's seasonal. The nearest pub doing food is in Colintraive, about nine miles.
The views around here are famous. The Kyles of Bute, which is that narrow bit of water between the mainland and Bute, is about six miles away. It's a good spot. Tighnabruaich has a small beach, a basic golf course, and a couple of places to eat. Otter Ferry itself is just a slipway and a shoreline, really. It's very peaceful.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV and WiFi. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
Useful links: National Trust for Scotland - Benmore Botanic Garden and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Both are within about a forty-minute drive.
