Stronafian House is near Colintraive, on Argyll's Secret Coast. It's a detached house, quite secluded, on its own land. You get the whole place.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but I'd say the main thing is the space and the quiet. There's no TV signal. There is a TV but it's just for DVDs, so bring your own entertainment. There's a wood burner, a pool table, and a big conservatory.
The garden is natural, not manicured. You'll see deer. Otters are common along the shore. If you're into fishing, you have rights on a beat of the River Ruel for salmon and sea trout. Stalking for red or roe deer can also be arranged locally, with proper guides.
The nearest place for basics is Colintraive village, about six miles away. It has a shop, a post office, a pub, and a restaurant. There's also a ferry there over to the Isle of Bute. Dunoon is about twelve miles for bigger shops.
For walks, the Cowal Way long-distance path is accessible from here. The Kyles of Bute are a short drive away, very good for kayaking or sailing. The nearest beach is about eight miles.
In terms of things to do within about half an hour's drive, you've got Benmore Botanic Gardens near Dunoon, Ardkinglas Woodland Garden, and Puck's Glen for a good woodland walk. Portavadie Marina is on the other coast.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. All bedding and towels are included. Highchair and stairgate are there if needed. Sorry, no pets.
